I came to Barbara with an acute mysterious muscular pain in my chest and she was able to turn me around with cupping and acupuncture in one appointment from crippling pain to breathing with ease in time to enjoy the holidays with my family.

Barbara is an amazing person and an amazing yoga instructor. She teaches from her heart and truly cares about the well being of each of her students. Her vinyasa and hatha classes are both challenging and rejuvenating and her restorative class is meditative and relaxing. I moved out of Boston two years ago and have not been able to find a comparable yoga instructor anywhere--Barbara is the best!
benefits of yoga
Yoga as we all know it is aimed to unite the mind, the body, and the spirit. Yogis view that the mind and the body are one, and that if it is given the right tools and taken to the right environment, it can find harmony and heal itself. Yoga therefore is considered therapeutic.
relaxation
Everyone finds it difficult to relax and unwind sometimes, here is a simple technique to help you wind down:
MEDITATION: Sit up straight, place both feet flat on the floor. Close your eyes. Begin to focus your attention on reciting, either loudly or quietly to yourself, a short mantra or positive statement such as “I am relaxed” or “I can let go” or anything you feel will work for you. Place one hand on your stomach and begin to sync your breath with your positive statement. Breathe in nice and slow, and breathe out nice and slow, (you might find it beneficial to count your breath (count to five as you inhale, and the exhale for the count of 5). Begin to let any distracting thoughts drift away and allow your tensions melt away.
